The American Association of University Women Hilo Branch again is offering the opportunity for all resident women with junior status or higher attending the University of Hawaii at Hilo to apply for scholarships.
Scholarship application and instructions can be found at hilo-hi.aauw.net.
Applications are due by April 1.
Since applications must be accompanied by two recommendations from faculty or other relevant mentors, students are encouraged to make appointments with appropriate faculty in their academic department as soon as possible to meet the deadline.
For more information about AAUW Hilo’s scholarship fund, email Mary Connie Banser, scholarship chairperson, at mcbanser@twc.com or visit hilo-hi.aauw.net.
In preparation for the 2016 scholarship applications, the AAUW Hilo Branch also once again partnered with Kilohana, the Academic Success Center at UH-Hilo, and recently offered writing workshops.
Karla Hayashi, the Kilohana director, assisted and also provided networking and publicity on campus.
All students were invited to attend and given assistance creating a personal statement.
